What is the SCORE Portland Speakers Bureau?
SCORE Portland has a number of executives available to speak to your organization at no charge. Presentations can be tailored to fit subject and timing requirements for individual organizations.
Our speakers are SCORE counselors, many of whom also participate in SCORE’s workshop programs.
Speakers’ backgrounds are diverse. While we have a number of people with Fortune 500 company credentials (e.g. IBM, Hewlett-Packard, etc.), the majority of counselors come with small business backgrounds and are truly entrepreneurs.
What Kinds of Topics Can SCORE Speakers Cover?
SCORE can deal with a wide variety of topics, among them business planning, cash flow and financial management, strategic marketing and marketing communications, selling techniques, networking, internet marketing, business legal structures, and human resources.
SCORE is also happy to discuss all the various services offered by the Portland SCORE chapter.
Who Can Benefit From the Speakers Bureau?
A variety of organizations rely on the Speakers Bureau, ranging from local Chambers of Commerce, Rotaries, to business groups and associations. We have also spoken to many college classes at both graduate and undergraduate level.
How Do I Request a Speaker?
Call the SCORE office in Portland (503-326-5211), discuss your needs, and ask the office to forward your request to the Speakers Bureau Committee Chair. As a rule, we require that an audience of at least ten people be served. We appreciate getting as much lead time as possible. Give us a call. You’ll be glad you did!
